The Chodrinchtyes, known as cartilaginous fish are formed
by two subclasses: Holocephali represented by chimeras and
Elasmobranchii represented by sharks and rays [1]. The guitar
ray (Pseudobatos horkelli), belonging to the Pseudobatidae
family, is an endemic species in Brazil and is present on the
IUCN list of endangered animals due to the excess of its capture
as by-catch fauna in trawling, occurring largely in the Southeast
region and southern Brazil.
